Muscle Strains

During daily life we put normal pressure on our muscles. Sudden or heavy lifting movements during work or sports can put unexpected strain on a muscle which can lead to small tears, which leads to bruising, swelling and irritation and muscle weakness. Immediate care is icing or cooling the area to reduce the swelling. If the pain is severe and does not diminish in 24 hours you must seek medical attention. Massage Therapy can assist with muscle strain in two ways. Following an injury treatment focuses on assisting with reducing the swelling. Receiving massage therapy on uninjured tissue, can help identify small areas of tension, before problems occur.

Massage therapy can help with a host of other conditions.
