Welcome to MTANS

The Massage Therapists’ Association of Nova Scotia is the only provincial association run BY Massage Therapists, FOR Massage Therapists. MTANS primary focus is on the issues and concerns facing the industry of massage therapy in the province of Nova Scotia.

Welcome to the website of the Massage Therapists’ Association of Nova Scotia (MTANS). In this site you will find information regarding:

  • the structure and function of MTANS
  • the practice of massage therapy in Nova Scotia
  • information for current MTANS members.

What is MTANS?

MTANS is a self governing body of massage therapists and is dedicated to protecting the public, serving its members, and promoting the highest possible quality of the practice of massage therapy. MTANS requires that all members continually update their knowledge and skills.

There are over  1192 active massage therapists currently registered with MTANS.

Respectful Workplace Policy

e staff of MTANS is committed to being respectful, professional, and courteous. As such, it is expected that members of MTANS and the general public will treat staff in the same manner.

To ensure a safe and respectful workplace, MTANS will not accept harassing or abusive communications towards staff.

This includes verbal or written harassment or retaliation based on the characteristics outlined by the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission. This behavior could include but is not limited to:

 ·         Demeaning or harassing comments;
 ·         Racist, sexist, or generally discriminatory statements;
 ·         Obscene statements or gestures;
 ·         Intimidation, shouting, and threats.

 

Behaviors of this kind may result in MTANS limiting communication to a written form or restricting future communication as MTANS sees fit.
