Thai Hot Herbal Compress Massage - on the TableThai Massage is a unique form of body therapy dating back over 2,500 years to ancient times. This form of massage incorporates gentle rocking, deep stretching and rhythmic compression to create a truly unique and therapeutic massage experience for the recipient. In Thai Hot Herbal Compress Massage, students learn how the blend of traditional herbs may be used to relieve sprains and strained muscles, stiffness of joints, inflammation and to enhance the stimulation of blood circulation. The compresses are used interchangeably with Traditional Thai Massage and have both a relaxing and invigorating effect on the body and mind. The steamed hot herbal bundles simultaneously soothe sore muscles and help to boost the energy level.Herbal Compresses have been used for thousands of years in Traditional Thai Medicine. Herbs are taken for treatment of illnesses or compounded into tonics for building up vital energy and immune systems. They are also used as remedies for surface symptoms of the body. Students will learn about the properties and uses of 15 different herbs and will be taught how to use some fresh herbs to add to the dried herb bundles. Hot Herbal Compress & Massage positions will include work done in the Supine, Prone and Side-Lying postures.
