Standardized Outcome Measures in Manual Therapy

  • Type:
  • Time:
  • hours
Today, health professionals are being mandated to demonstrate evidence-informed assessment practices that are patient-centered and capable of measuring health status at a functional level. Self-report instruments (questionnaires) have gained popularity for such purposes. This workshop will examine issues relating to self-report instrument (1) need, (2) benefits, (3) barriers and (4) resources. Discussion will enable personal reflection regarding standardized assessment practices in relation to current norms found across various health professions and potential for professional growth through resource identification. Most importantly, this workshop will present an opportunity to participate in a future research project examining standardized assessment practices of RMTs in BC and contribute to massage therapy research!
