Course Content Pre-event massage segment focuses on the application of Swedish massage techniques to warm up tissues and to increase circulation prior to an athletic event Post-event massage segment focuses on the application of Swedish massage techniques to decrease muscle tone and to promote venous and lymphatic drainage following and athletic event Treatment of common sport injuries segment focuses on the application of Swedish massage techniques to treat common musculoskeletal sport injuries - strains, sprains, subluxations, contusions, contractures Modalities Used The modalities used during the demonstrations and practical exchanges are all within our scope of practice - warm hydrotherapy, passive and active stretching, range of motion exercises, joint mobilization techniques, fascial stretching techniques, effleurage, petrissage, shaking, coarse vibrations, rocking, tapotement, frictions, ischemic compressions
