Cupping is a great additional tool to have as a massage therapist. It helps blend an old world healing into today’s practice. For your patients it can help increase circulation, decrease fascial restrictions, increase range of motion and many other benefits, with minimal effort from you as a therapist. As a therapist it is a great tool for self healing and maintenance.
Cupping is a technique whereby a vacuum (negative pressure) is created in a cup, drawing the skin (fascia) up into the cup and separating the layers of fascia. The vacuum effect draws the new blood to the area as the new blood rushes the individual levels it helps to remove stagnation that may have been present.
Annis has been practicing massage since 2006 in both multidisciplinary clinics and now in her own in home clinic. Annis is also a part time instructor at Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy and has been there since 2008 instructing and learning with her students.
Annis is looking forward to sharing her vast knowledge with you during the cupping massage course.
