This class is designed for practicing massage therapists with no previous aromatherapy training. With an overwhelming number of benefits to your client, an aromatherapy body massage creates both physiological and psychological effects. A treatment is well known for stress relieving, lymphatic drainage, detoxing the body, stimulation and increase in blood circulation. This course covers how to create and apply essential oil blends for your clients. You will create aromatherapy products for: • Relaxation • Pain • Inflammation • Acute and chronic ailments • Self-Care We will discuss the powerful benefits that “just a relaxation massage” offers to clients, the therapeutic properties that make essential oils so healing, and how to use essential oils for self-care. You will learn the important role that perception plays in the stress response and how massage and aromatherapy counteract stress related symptoms. You will also have plenty of therapeutic products on hand such as: massage table cleaner, headache oil and a cold and flu immune support blend. Your course manual will include over fifty recipes for therapeutic products to use in your massage practice. She is a clinical aromatherapist, licensed esthetician, chartered herbalist, and owner of Drops of Mercy Essential Oils. As a licensed esthetician, she has used essential oils in therapeutic relaxation massage for over ten years. Her interests have been focused on learning how to safely use natural plant medicines and aromatherapy as an effective healing modality. Joyce presently owns and operates an aromatherapy clinic in Saint John, N.B., where she does private consultations, formulates herbal and aromatherapy remedues specific to the client’s needs.
